Mission
The Meaning of the name is directly linked to its mission:
In the process of reaching out to help the most destitute populations, Bassma aims to transform hopelessness into smiles.
BASSMA's mission is to empower the most disadvantaged families, and help them become self-sufficient financially morally and psychologically through the:
1. Rehabilitation of destitute families through:
- Fighting hunger
- Strengthening education
- Providing proper healthcare services
- Building decent housing
- Expanding employment opportunities
- Developing families' marketable skills and leveraging their capabilities
- Creating safe environment for all family members
- Improving living standards
- Promoting Self-responsibility and Independence
- Social Assistance for the Elderly
- Protecting and saving abused women and children
2. Social Assistance and accompaniment of elderly.
3. Protection and Social Reintegration of abused children, women and elderly.
4. Poverty Awareness among youth, local communities and different stakeholders on socio-economic issues and their repercussions on society, through Civic Engagement and Community Service projects.

Equipped with the proper resources, underprivileged families have the power to become self-sufficient.
Every person has the right to live in dignity and deserves a chance to achieve her potential through access to Food, Education, Housing, Proper HealthCare, Employment and Decent Living Standards.

Objectives

Family Development

BASSMA supports the families by providing them with basic needs such as food, clothing and social assistance, thus creating a real difference in their lives.
Family Social Integration

BASSMA provides Mental Healthcare services including a personalized psychological follow-up to help family members get over many traumas helping them reach psychological autonomy, and achieve Social Reintegration.
Family Life Planning

BASSMA develops a personalized plan of action for each family, with objectives on the short, mid, and long term, including Housing, Healthcare, and Tutoring services, as well as Life Coaching with emphasis on Budget Management, helping them become self-managed.
Family Empowerment

BASSMA develops a long-term personalized Empowerment Program focusing on Education and Employment, helping families leverage their capabilities and gain their financial independence.

Building a network of connections including the Government, academic institutions, companies, specialized institutions, NGOs and any other institution that could be of help to the disadvantaged.

BASSMA adapts its methods of intervention to local family customs in order to establish strong and sincere bonds with the assisted families.

Methodology
- Weekly personal follow-up of each family on the long-term.
- Provision of all the material, financial and moral support and know-how that family members need to become self-sufficient.
- Coordination with official entities to ensure quality life.
