The Bassma fairytale

Bassma, a non-profit association for Social Development, founded in 2002 by a group of dynamic volunteers. They had two things in common: their love for their country and their desire to change the very unstable socioeconomic situation of the most deprived.hey decided to fight poverty and work for a better society by creating a humanitarian organization that rallies citizens for the social Lebanese cause. BASSMA was officially born.

      • BASSMA's website winning the Golden Trophy for the "Governmental, NGO & International Organizations" web category in Lebanon, in the Lebanon Web Awards 2004
      • Launching of the first “Smile Restaurants”, offering warm dishes to a hundred persons every week

    • Organizational Reengineering

      • BASSMA's website winning the Best Content Trophy for the "e-Inclusion" category, in the Arab eContent Award 2005, under the supervision of the World Summit Award

    • Supporting Iraqi Refugees

      • BASSMA has been providing support to 20,000 Iraqi refugees since their arrival in July 2014. It covers all levels of aid provision: food rations, clothes, medicines, baby products (diapers, medicines, milk, etc.), rent payments, activities and outings, Christmas lunch, etc.
