Malnutrition is responsible for nearly half of all child deaths. At the global Nutrition for Growth summit in London on June 8, 30 InterAction members pledged $750 million in private funds to programs working to improve nutrition. The pledge comprises efforts that focus on the critical 1,000-day window between a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s 2nd birthday. In addition to financial pledges, 90 stakeholders—including InterAction and Thousand Days--signed the Global Nutrition for Growth Compact, committing to improve the nutrition of 500 million pregnant women and young children.
